We are pleased to introduce “Prayas-Juvenile Aid Centre Society” as a National-Level-Organization operating its diversified activities in 7 states and U/Ts of India viz. Assam, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana, Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Prayas today has branched out into performing various developmental activities that include the provision of education, health, livelihood and skills up-gradation programs, anti-trafficking, addressing underprivileged youth and women living in slums and rural communities.
As a multi-disciplinary organization, Prayas focuses on deprived, marginalized and weaker sections of the society especially youth and women for their socio-economic rehabilitation through skills development / vocational training programmes since 1988.
Prayas Institute of Economic Empowerment (PIEE) is a dedicated cell of Prayas to design and promote skills development through community organization, capacity building and training programmes in order to promote sustainable means of livelihood for the marginalized and disadvantaged people in 7 states and U/Ts of India. The major goal is to impart skills development training to needy youth and women covering a wide range of skills/trades as per local conditions and market needs and provide livelihood opportunities to needy persons.
In this context, Prayas has partnership with Jan Shikhsan Sansthan, a unit of Ministry of HRD, GOI, in Delhi and at Samastipur (Bihar), NIOS in Delhi, Certificate of Vocational Training Provider for MES courses awarded by DGET, Ministry of Labour and Employment, GOI for Prayas’ Jahangirpuri Centre and IGNOU to provide various certificates and diploma related to social and health courses through Jan Shikhsan Sansthan, Prayas at Jahangirpuri, North-Delhi..
Through its 227 Alternative Education Centres spread in various parts of Delhi and out-station, Prayas has been into community-based programme involving communities through SHGs and various out-reach programmes in a highly significant manner.
