Observation of World Population Day
Jan Shikshan Sansthan Prayas,EE-Block,Jahangirpuri,Delhi-33, in association with State Resource Center, Jamia Milia Islamia, NewDelhi, observed world population day on 18.07.2007.In the first half of the day, various competitions were organized. During the second half of the day cultural programmes were held. The programme started at 10.30 in the morning. The competitions held were slogan writing competition, quiz competition, essay writing competition, poster making competition, play competition and face painting competition.

Children from home also took active part in these competitions.
The second half of the day had cultural programmes and prize distribution ceremony.The chief guest arrived at around 3.20.P.M. The chief guest for the day was Mrs vandana Jena,DG,NLM & Secratory,HRD Ministry.The other guests present were Mr.Amod Kanth,General Secratory, Prayas,Mrs Nilofar Rizvi,Project Coordinator ,SRC Jamia Milia Islamia and Mrs.Veena Upadhyaya,Social Worker. The programme started with the welcome and Tilak of chief guest. The girls recited a song on population.This was followed by key address by Mr.Amod Kanth. The other cultural programmes held were play,group song , and Dance performance by children of Prayas child Home. The star attraction of the day was the magic show. The children enjoyed it.The programme ended up with vote of thanks by director JSSP Mrs.Arun Grover.
The programme was a grand success.
